Professional Pressure Washing: A Luxury Spa Treatment for Your Home’s Exterior

As a woman, I perform certain tasks to keep myself looking my best on a regular basis, but sometimes, I really need to go all out and request the services of a professional. Sure, I do the home mani/pedi thing, but nothing beats a day of pampering at the spa.

The same goes for your house. So many people go to extensive lengths to keep the inside of their house in tip top shape, but often forget about the exterior. You may clean the windows from time to time, and if you’re really invested, you may even hire a professional landscaper to give your house a little curb appeal.

I found myself neglecting the appearance of my siding and roof, until I realized that if I wanted to make my house look even more valuable, I needed to clean the whole house. This epiphany came to me during a spa day, when the hair stylist pointed out that my new haircut would look better if I went all out and got my roots touched up.

So obviously I knew what had to be done, but I wasn’t quite sure how to do it. A few clicks on the internet, some browsing through the telephone book (I still use one), and some good old fashioned word of mouth advertising lead me to the idea of pressure washing.

I was a little nervous at first. From the sound of it, pressure washing reminded me of those 80’s style hairdo’s that look like someone got in a fight with a blow dryer. As it turns out, professional pressure washers, like Outdoor ProWash in Nashville, actually use very little pressure. They use a technique called Softwash, which combines the right detergents with the right tools, and prevents any kind of damage seen with other high pressure blasting methods.

At the spa, you wouldn’t want to use a drying soap on your face unless you have oily skin, and esthetician will likely know the right products for you. Well, the same goes for your home. A professional pressure washer knows exactly which detergents to use to clean away any dirt and grime from your siding, roof, soffit and gutters, and can restore your home’s luster. Mine even added an application of a protective coating which resists mold and mildew.

What’s even crazier, is after they cleaned my roof, the shingles were shiny and more reflective, keeping my home cooler. You know when you get a few inches trimmed off your hair, yet it feels like you lost ten pounds? That’s exactly how I felt about the look of my “new” roof.

By extending my home care routine to include exterior maintenance and cleaning, I have added valuable appeal to my property. So, while I still take care of the little things myself, it certainly doesn’t hurt to treat your home to a “spa day”, and book a professional pressure washing.
